Mattanchery is a place in the heart of Kochi, India. Located at an altitude of 9 km from the city, this place derives its name from ‘Ancheri Matam’ which means the Namboothiri Illam.
Later, foreigners came here called as the Mattancherry. So, this place was known as Mattancherry.
